In his rebellion, Lucius turns dark, almost evil, and Jessica must fight for him back or lose everything connected to her birth family. If I were to nitpick anything, it would be that the cover model should be more curvy with curly, dark hair emphasis on the curvy. Lucius is an intense, righteous and darkly handsome Romanian more Mr Darcy than Edward who has come to America to convince Jessica that they should marry and reunite their warring vampiric families. Determined to think Lucius is crazy as well as charming, arrogant, attractive and, yes, dangerous, Jessica refuses to let him have his way even if he does seem to have her parents on his side. But I did enjoy that while the narrative was from Jessica's perspective, we got to see a different side of Lucius through his letters back home to his uncle reporting on his progress.
